OCTUM develops, integrates and supports industrial machine vision and AOI systems for automated quality inspection. Around 50 employees at three locations in Ilsfeld, Rodenbach near Kaiserslautern and Charlotte in the USA work on custom inspection solutions for industrial production processes.
The locations perform different functions in development, project implementation, application engineering and support. At the same time, they work closely together and draw on the shared technical experience of the entire company.
OCTUM systems are integrated into machinery and production lines, installed and supported worldwide over the long term.

Ilsfeld
Headquarters, Development and System Integration
At the headquarters in Ilsfeld, custom machine vision and AOI systems are developed, engineered, assembled and prepared for use in industrial production environments.
Project engineering, software development, mechanical engineering, system assembly and central corporate functions are based here. Feasibility studies and test setups are also carried out in Ilsfeld. Using real product samples, cameras, optics, lighting and evaluation methods can be assessed under application-relevant conditions.
OCTUM also coordinates international customer projects, installations and commissioning activities from Ilsfeld. Its central location in southern Germany facilitates collaboration with machine builders, equipment manufacturers and manufacturing companies from different industries.
Rodenbach near Kaiserslautern
Support and Application Center
The OCTUM location in Rodenbach near Kaiserslautern expands the company’s technical capabilities in application engineering and support.
Custom machine vision applications are developed, tested and further optimized here. The location also provides technical support for existing OCTUM inspection systems and works closely with the specialist departments at the Ilsfeld headquarters on customer projects.
This cross-location collaboration brings together experience from development, project implementation and ongoing system operation. Insights gained through support activities can therefore contribute directly to the continued development of applications and system concepts.
Charlotte, North Carolina
OCTUM USA and Support Across the Americas
With OCTUM USA in Charlotte, North Carolina, OCTUM is closer to its customers’ production sites across the Americas.
The location supports customers in the United States, Central America and South America. Shorter travel distances and improved coordination across American time zones facilitate the handling of technical inquiries, planned service assignments and necessary on-site support.
OCTUM USA works closely with the locations in Germany. Customers benefit from local availability combined with the technical expertise of the entire OCTUM team.

Shared Responsibility for Customer Projects and Existing Systems
The three OCTUM locations do not operate as separate units. Depending on the specific task, expertise from development, mechanical engineering, software, application engineering, project management and support is brought together.
